Make your own Linux.
Five choices, and a sixth if you know your way around Linux. The preview changes as you go. At the end, linuxlive builds it, tests it, and hands you an ISO that boots and installs.
Made one before? The kit the Workshop gave you, or your distro's repository downloaded from GitHub as a zip. It stays in your browser.
Make it yours
Your files stay in your browser: the kit is made here, not on our servers. Only "Build it in my GitHub" sends them, through linuxlive.com straight to your own repository, and nothing is kept.
Extras (optional)
For people who know Linux: packages from the base's own archive, files placed in the system, your own shell scripts, and code from GitHub. Skip this step and nothing changes.
Build script runs as root while the image is built
First-boot script runs once as root on an installed computer, before its login screen
First-login script runs once for each user, as that user
Files copied into the system, under /etc or /usr
Code from GitHub fetched at an exact commit and built into the image
Scripts and GitHub code run as root, in the build and on every computer that installs your distro. Only add code you have read and trust. The Library reads every line before it publishes a distro with code of its own.

Build it for me signs you in with GitHub and builds it on linuxlive.com's own builder, in public: in about 40 minutes you get a download link, kept for 30 days. Distros with scripts or GitHub code of their own are built only in your GitHub.
Save puts your changes in the same repository as one commit, and GitHub builds and boot-tests the new version, as it did the last. The kit holds the same files, if you would rather keep a copy.
Build it in my GitHub signs you in with GitHub and puts your spec and art in a new public repository of yours, made from the linuxlive-distro template. GitHub then builds the ISO and boot-tests it, free. The kit holds the same files, and a README with the steps.
